We are unable to supply Janome Branded product outside the UK and Ireland. The warranty on Janome products supplied from the UK, only applies within those territories
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights. To order goods through this website you must be at least 18 years of age and accept delivery within our served areas. We will treat each order for goods as an offer by you to purchase the goods subject to these terms and conditions.

The content of this Site such as text, graphics, images, and other materials ("Materials"), are protected by copyright under both England & Wales and foreign law. Most product descriptions are provided to us by the manufacturer, and we accept no responsibility for such descriptions. Full detailed specifications are available from the manufacturer's themselves.

thesewingstudio.co.uk aim to provide you with outstanding value for money, and we strongly believe that you will not find the products we sell cheaper elsewhere. We are very confident of this and make a ‘price promise’ that if you find the same product elsewhere, we will attempt to match it. However, there are conditions to this, and principally, the decision to match or better a competitors price is wholly up to thesewingstudio.co.uk and although we will try, we do not guarantee to do so. In order for us to consider matching a price, our competitor must be selling the identical product, it must be in stock and with a similar delivery time frame as our own, we will also include any relevant delivery charges that they may charge in making our decision.
Availability of Goods
All products and services are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. Information on the site detailing stock levels should not be viewed as a guarantee of availability, and is a guide only. Information displayed by our marketing partners should also not be relied upon, and we take no responsibility over information displayed on sites such as these. If we do not supply the goods for any reason we will not charge you for these and we will refund any money already paid for them. However, we will not be responsible for compensating you for any other losses you may suffer if we do not supply the goods.
Thesewingstudio.co.uk always endeavours to adhere to delivery estimates but these are always estimates. Any dates we specify for the delivery of the goods are approximate only and we shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges, or expenses caused by any delay for delivery of the goods and time is not of the essence.
Most items sent by thesewingstudio.co.uk need to be signed for, and as such, you, or a nominated person must be available to sign for it. We may permit you to send the item to an address other than the card holders to facilitate this. If delivery is attempted, but no one was available to sign for it, we reserve the right to charge you for any subsequent delivery attempts. The ‘free delivery’ promotion on the site may only be applied once per order, and to the first delivery attempt, if applicable.
All prices on our website are exclusive of delivery charges which will be added to the price of the products at the checkout, should there be a charge. Northern Ireland (BT), Isle of Man (IM), Scottish Highlands and Orkney Isles (PA, ML, EH, KA, G, KY, PH, DD, AB, IV, KW), Outer Hebrides and the Shetland Isles (HS, ZE) may not always qualify for free delivery and may also experience delivery delays.
As soon as we have delivered the goods to your door, or to a nominated person, you will be responsible for them. From the time of receipted delivery of the goods, any loss or damage to the goods shall be at your own risk. Any transit damage to the goods, shortages or incorrect goods supplied must be noted on the delivery consignment note at the time of delivery.
Notification of Claims due to Delivery Errors
Damage in transit: If goods arrive in a damaged condition you must make a note on the carrier's delivery consignment note and it will be your responsibility to inform us within 7 days from delivery.
Shortages: It is your responsibility to sign for the correct number of packages as shown on the carrier's delivery consignment note. Any shortages must be noted on the consignment note and it will be your responsibility to notify us within 10 days from delivery.
In-Correct Goods: It is your responsibility to notify us of any in-correct goods supplied within 7 days from delivery.
Non-Deliveries: We will not accept liability for goods lost in transit unless we are notified within 10 days from the expected delivery date.
If goods returned under this clause are found to be perfect and in full working order, these will be returned to you and an administration fee of 15% of the price of the goods along with the cost of carriage will be charged to your credit card account.
RETURNS AND CANCELLATIONS

You have the right to cancel your order at any time before a confirmed delivery date free of charge.
We want you to be satisfied when you shop with us. However, occasionally, we know that you may want to return items. For information on this process please see our returns policy below.
No Fault Returns
The United Kingdom’s Distance Selling Regulations stipulate that as a consumer, you have the right to cancel the contract for the purchase of any item within seven working days of delivery. This applies to all of our products.
In this case, you are responsible for the safe return of the product to us, including the cost of doing so. We may be able to arrange this on your behalf for a fee which will be advised at the time of booking such a service.
If you have decided to cancel your order or wish to return your products to Thesewingstudio.co.uk we will refund your credit card within 30 days of cancellation or from when we receive the goods, whichever is later.
The goods must be unused and ‘as new’ in their original box and packaging including all manuals and accessories and fit for resale. We can only accept the return of opened items if they are faulty. You must notify us within 7 days from date of delivery and we will issue you with a Returns Authorisation Number. The Returns Authorisation number will be valid for 14 days and it will be your responsibility to return the goods to us at your own cost and risk (we must receive the item back within 14 days of your receipt). We reserve the right to deduct re-stocking fee or a delivery cost recovery fee from the amount refunded in accordance with the European Union distance selling directive. If goods are received back ‘as new’ but incomplete with missing components and accessories we will charge the cost of the accessories to you. Goods received back in any condition other than ‘as new’ will be returned back to you, at your cost.
Software must still be sealed.
If all the criteria above are not met we may return the goods to the sender at the seller’s expense, refuse delivery or to charge you our fees and expenses if the product is received otherwise than in accordance with these requirements.
This does not affect your Statutory Rights.
Faulty Returns – Not working on arrival
A product is deemed to be faulty on arrival if it shows symptoms of a failure preventing basic operation upon its first use out of the box. In such instances please contact customer services within 7 days from the delivery date. You can then either return the faulty item directly yourself or we will organise a collection. Upon receipt of the goods and confirmation of the fault by our product support team you will be offered the following options:
1. A replacement – this item will be shipped to you at our own expense.
2. A repair – the repaired item will be shipped to you at our own expense. Please note that once repaired the product is no longer eligible for replacement.
3. A full refund – provided the item has been verified faulty and is complete with all accessories in its original box and packaging.
If the product is not deemed to be faulty by our product support team then you will be offered the following options:
1. Return of the goods – the cost of delivery charged to you.
2. Refund – the invoice cost less any applicable delivery and collection charges provided the product is ‘as new’ and complete with all accessories in its original box and packaging. If the condition of the product or the packaging is poor then we reserve the right to impose a charge to cover re-packaging costs. Missing accessories will also be charged to you.
The manufacturers guarantee will apply to all items reported to be faulty after 7 days from delivery.
Please be aware you are responsible for ensuring the product is suitably packaged for return. The cost of any damage caused due to insufficient packaging will be charged to you. This charge will be at least 15% of the purchase value. The goods must be returned in the original packaging. We recommend the original packaging be kept for no less than the term of the warranty in case of a fault developing or any other transit requirements you might have.
This does not apply to faults caused by accident, neglect or misuse, for which there will be no refund or exchange.
This returns policy does not affect your legal rights.
15 Year Guarantee
The 15 year Guarantee is dependant on the following criteria;
1 - You retain the original packaging (including the internal packaging, Polystyrene
) for the 15 years, guarantee is void if collected and in alternative packaging, if you do not have the original packaging it can be purchased directly from the manufacturer, the cost of the replacement packaging varies between manufacturers and machine. This is something that you will arrange and pay for outside the guarantee.
2 - The 15 Years guarantee covers your machine if the fault is mechanical, electrical or a design or manufacture fault. If the fault is a user error or a fault due to negligence then this will NOT be covered by our guarantee, and the sender will be expected to pay for ALL shipping, collection and return. If deemed a manufacture fault, then we will arrange collection and return free of charge under the terms of our guarantee.
3 – The 15 Year guarantee applies to domestic machines and does NOT cover machines for commercial or educational use. If you wish to discuss extended warranties/guarantees for these machines, please call to discuss.
4 – The value of the machine at time of purchase was over £100, any machine under this value reflects the quality and the expected life span of the machine and is not covered under our 15 Year guarantee.
This does not affect your statutory rights this guarantee does not cover consumable items;
Needles, Bobbins, Light Bulbs, Belts, Loopers, Blades etc, as stated on the manufactures documentation.
You will own the goods once we have received your payment in full. Failure by us to enforce any of these terms and conditions will not affect our right to enforce the rest of these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions are subject to change at any time without prior notice to you.
Recycling electrical and electronic products - what you need to know
On 1 July 2007, new government regulations called the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations came into force to encourage people to arrange collection or recycling of old electrical products, rather than throwing them away.
Why should waste electrical goods be recycled?
Recycling unwanted electrical products is better for the environment. The amount of electrical waste, from hairdryers to washing machines, that is thrown away is increasing by around 5% each year.
Over 75% of waste electrical goods end up in landfill, where lead and other toxins contained in electrical goods can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a very harmful effect on the natural habitat, wildlife and also human health. When situated near populated areas these toxins can cause problems to communities as their water and soil is polluted.
Many of the electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save natural resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending waste electrical goods to landfill.
How can I recycle my old electrical and electronic products?
We offer free in store take back so you are able to bring your old sewing machine back to us providing you are buying a new one from us (like for like). It doesn't matter if you didn't purchase the original machine from us we will still take it back. Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item.
How will I know whether the new products I buy can be recycled?
All new electrical and electronic products sold now carry the ‘crossed out wheelie bin’ logo to help you identify which products are recyclable.
You do not need to have purchased new equipment to be able to recycle your old appliances.

What if my machine is coming via Home Delivery, will I still get free collection of my old WEEE item?
Unfortunately we can not offer free collection on Home Delivery products. (Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item.)
