How to arrange your part exchange
If you’re considering part exchanging your sewing machine please visit us at our Redruth shop (Monday to Friday).
We recommend you read the below FAQs before bringing your machine in to be valued.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring the machine you wish to part-exchange, in its original box if you have it, the manual and any accessories the machine came with.
Our part exchange team are available to value your old sewing machine during the below times.
Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 4pm
We're unfortunately unable to carry out part exchange transactions on a Saturday
We are closed on bank holidays
What do you do with my old machine?
Our sewing machine engineers will fully inspect, repair and service your sewing machine to sell as a pre-loved machine. Alternatively they will remove spare working parts and responsibly dispose of or recycle machines that have reached the end of their working life.

What factors will you take into consideration when valuing my machine?
We will value your machine based on the below criteria.
- The make & model.
- We check to see if the machine is in working condition. If it’s not, do still bring it in.
- Wear and tear, plus stitch count if applicable.
- If there is an original box and manual.
- Are the original accessories present and in working order.
I don’t live near The Sewing Studio showroom, can I still part-ex?
You can if you are visiting our shop in Redruth, please call us to enquire further before you come in.
Will I be able to buy a new machine on the same day?
Assuming the model you want is in stock then yes! If it’s not in stock, we will order it for you to be delivered to the shop or sent to your chosen address.
I am in Cornwall on holiday, if I bring my old machine in can you send my new one to my home address?
Yes we can!
My machine is manufactured by a brand you don’t sell, can I still part-ex?
Yes. Please call us to enquire further before you come in. 01209 216 942.
Are there any machines you won’t part-ex?
We can not part exchange any industrial sewing machines.

What happens if I decide to return my machine? Can I take my old machine back?
Please call us as soon as you decide you would like to return your new machine. We will do our best to return your old machine to you but in some instances we will not be able to do so.
We will only refund the total you paid for your new machine.

My machine is very old, will I be able to part-ex?
If your machine pre-dates 1980, please give us a call to discuss further.
*Terms & conditions apply. There is a minimum spend of £350 on a new sewing machine. This offer applies only to customers visiting our showroom in Redruth, Cornwall. You may be asked to leave your machine with us for a valuation.
