Filmoplast: Self Adhesive Embroidery Backing: Light to Heavy Weight fabrics (Price Per Metre)
Product Overview
Product Overview
FILMOPLAST® is a Self-Adhesive Nonwoven backing.
FILMOPLAST® - is the epitome of stabiliser versatility: only the FILMOPLAST® is hooped in the frame, and the fabric to be embroidered is simply placed on top, preventing frame marks on delicate fabrics.
As it is adhesive, it stabilises woven and knit materials and can improve the final stitching quality. It can also be used when embroidering small pieces which are not suitable for hooping. Caps can even be quickly customised without using a special cap frame – simply stick them on FILMOPLAST® and off you go!
FILMOPLAST® is also economical, holes left in the hooped film after embroidering can simply be covered with remnant pieces. It eliminates repeated hooping of frames ensuring setting-up and stoppage times will be minimised, which truly saves time during production processes.
Main Applications:
- Non-heat bonding of light to heavy-weight fabrics.
- Stabilise stretch fabrics, like T-shirts, polo shirts, materials containing elastane, etc.
- Needle-sharp pattern outlines and letters, even on stretch materials.
- Stabilise delicate fabrics where frame marks are unwanted, e.g. velvet, fleece, or dark fabric types.
- Embroidery placements that are difficult to hoop, like trousers and shirt pockets, collars, cuffs, ribbons, etc.
How to use:
1. Mount the FILMOPLAST® in an embroidery frame, with the printed side facing up.
2. Carefully score the masking paper with a needle, without damaging the nonwoven sticky backing. Remove the scored paper area.
3. Position the fabric on the sticky nonwoven backing, making sure the fabric it is smoothed out, and start embroidering. Tear off the FILMOPLAST® from the back of the finished embroidered fabric.
