Flannel Cotton Fabric
Flannel is a soft, medium-weight cotton fabric that has a soft fuzzy finish on one or both sides. This napped finish either comes from brushing and its characteristic loose weave. We love using flannel in quilting and patchwork for its soft, cozy feel making it warm and comfortable particularly in autumn and winter. Similar to cotton, flannel is a woven material and is breathable. It's an ideal fabric for a new baby project.
Our top tips for quilting with flannel would be to use a new shape blade on your rotary cutter, a fresh needle on your machine, a walking foot for quilting and a longer stitch length.
