Log Cabin Love Quilt Pattern
Log Cabin Love by Pam & Nicky Lintott is a new quilt design for 2024. Mixing log cabin with hearts is a really fun combination. It's not featured in a book so we're pleased to share this downloadable pattern and our exclusive video tutorial with you.
This pattern is a download with a link in the pattern PDF to the video tutorial by Katrina, our quilting expert. The video tutorial is designed to be used alongside the pattern. You'll be able to access the tutorial in the pattern for as long as you need it.
This project is suitable for an advanced beginner or quilter with intermediate ability and some sewing experience.
This pattern works best when your fabric selection has a good contrast of light and dark hues.
Quilt Size: 68in x 68in (173cms x 173cms)
Block Size: 14in (finished size)
No. of Blocks: 16
Setting: 4 x 4 blocks plus 4 Inch sashing
Fabric requirements:
1 jelly roll OR forty 2½in strips across the width of the fabric
¾yd (75cms) light sashing
¾yd (75cms) dark sashing
1 1/4 yd (1m) heart fabric
½ yd (50cms) binding
Sorting your jelly roll:
Divide the jelly roll into two colourways. You need eighteen strips for the light side and twenty-two strips for the dark. Artistic licence can be used here but the colourways need to look different. You can cut a few strips from the sashing log fabrics if needed as you have a bit extra to play with. Just make sure you don’t cut the outer logs (the 12½in and 14½in logs) with this fabric as you don’t want two logs of the same fabric next to each other.
