Brother Innov-is NV1100 Sewing Machine Review

This moderately priced computerised sewing machine is meant for the sewist that wants a great machine with the right number of features. It’s well-built, like many other Brother branded sewing machine, and really offers a wide variety of stitches and functions that will aid you in your sewing journey to become an expert.

You’ll have access to 140 different stitches. That’s including 10 unique buttonholes and a couple of different stitch fonts! That’s a lot of options to work with as far as decorative stitches and utility stitches. You’ll be able to create custom tags or add a bit of flair to any project. Whatever you want to create with your brand-new sewing machine, you’ll be able to do with the Brother Innov-is NV1100 Sewing Machine.

Threading this machine will be a breeze, too! It has a built-in needle threader as well as threading guides printed directly onto the machine so that you won’t have to refer back to the manual every time you need to thread your machine. And it has an automatic thread cutter that will help you save on thread in the long run. It cuts closer to the fabric than if you were to pull the project away and cut later, but still leaves a decent sized tail for you to work with if needed. You won’t have to wind a bobbin as often when you utilise the thread cutter!

This sewing machine is also equipped with an optional knee lift. Knee lifts are great for those projects that you want to be able to keep both hands on your fabric. A lever plugs into the front of the machine and hangs below your workspace so that you can simply nudge it with your knee in order to lift the presser foot! It’s perfect for applique, in order to pivot when it comes to harsh corners, or for those garments that have many layers that you want to be able to hold on to as your adhere them together.

You’ll have a good 6 inches of workspace to the right of the needle with the Innov-is NV1100. That’s enough space to work on moderately sized projects, such as a twin-sized quilt or any kind of garment!
