First you'll want to start with the right tools!

We offer a 3-Needle Pen Tool (from Clover), which is perfect for small and delicate projects. We also offer a 5-Needle Tool (from Clover) which is better for attaching applique to knits.

For 2D Felting projects it is recommended to use more needles, so the 7-Needle Tool (from Trimits) would be best suited. For use with felt, wool, denim, fleece and more. Don't forget the 7 Refill Needles (Fine) (from Trimits) which can also be used individually for finer, delicate work.

Moving onto Felting Mats. The brush-like mat enables smooth punching with little resistance, and allows the fibres of the applique to become well meshed with the basic fabric.
